"Law Enforcement Appreciation" Event Set For Saturday

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joe Lombardo will be joined by other members of the community for Nevada Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on Saturday to celebrate members of law enforcement.

The event will take place at the Police Memorial Park, 3250 Metro Academy Way from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Singer and performer Frank Scinta will start the celebration and the Multi-Jurisdiction Honor Guard will present colors along with the Emerald Society Band.

Guest speakers include Sheriff Lombardo, Councilman Stavros Anthony and Clark County Commissioner Larry Brown and Congresswoman Susie Lee. Also attending will be U.S. Catherine Cortez Masto, U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich, Chief Michele Freeman of the City of Las Vegas Department of Public Safety, Chief Pam Ojeda of the City of North Las Vegas Police Department and Chief Thedrick Andres of the City of Henderson Police Department.

The event is a fun family day with food trucks, music, games, photo booths, face painting and a special appearance by the Raiderettes. The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada will also be hosting a blood drive. Those wanting to donate blood can visit SNV C.O.P.S and make an appointment.
