LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Clark County, in collaboration with the Southern Nevada Health District, the Clark County School District and local ambulance companies is offering free COVID-19 testing on Friday at Jerome Mack Middle School, 4250 E. Karen Ave., off Lamb Boulevard.
No appointment is needed for the testing.
The walk-in site will be inside the school’s cafeteria. It will have 400 self-administered nasal swab tests available on a first-come, first-serve basis, starting at 8 a.m.
Testing is open to anyone, including children. Patients are asked to wear face coverings, and to bring photo identification and provide their phone numbers. The type of testing available is polymerase chain reaction tests, better known as PCR tests, which show whether someone currently has COVID-19. All results, positive or negative, are reported to the Health District.
Clark County has been working to expand testing resources on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley where there are larger populations of Hispanics and other communities of color facing disproportionate risks of contracting the virus.
