
LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The latest 2020 Census response rates released show that three Nevada counties have surpassed their 2010 Census response rate.
About 790,000 of Nevadans have now responded to the 2020 Census, making Clark, Lyon, and Storey counties three of 16 counties that have surpassed their rate from the 2010 Census.
“The Census Bureau would like to extend our congratulations to the people of Nevada for their high response rate,” said Julie Lam, regional director of the Los Angeles Regional Census Office of the U.S. Census Bureau. “Your response matters and will help your community get the accurate count it needs to secure federal funding for critical public services and political representation.”
Nevada’s top five counties with the highest response rates:
- Churchill 67.8%
- Carson City 65.1%
- Lyon 64.4 %
- Washoe 63.5%
- Clark 60.7%
Nevada’s top five cities with the highest response rates:
- Henderson 70.2%
- Fallon 69.1%
- Boulder City 67.6 %
- Fernley 67.1%
- Mesquite 66.7%
The Census Bureau encourages the public to respond online at 2020census.gov. Households can respond online in English or 12 other languages, or by phone. Households can also respond by mail using the paper questionnaire.
Households that do not respond to the census will receive a visit from a census taker who will help them respond.
