Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The northwest part of the Las Vegas Valley continues to grow at a rapid rate, and there's no surer sign of that than increased traffic.
Over the next 9 months, the City of Las Vegas says they'll be installing 7 new traffic signals to improve safety, but of course with the installation of the signals comes restrictions in available traffic lanes.
Lane restrictions on Peak Drive from Buffalo Drive to Tenaya Way are anticipated to begin next Monday to facilitate construction work. Lane restrictions are expected to begin the same day also at the Farm Road and Oso Blanca Road intersection in preparation for a new traffic signal.
Travel lanes will be reduced intermittently to facilitate the planned construction of road improvements consisting of seven new traffic signals, one pedestrian flasher beacon, roadway surface, curb and gutters, sidewalk, ADA access and fiber-optic cable installation for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Minimal lane restrictions will be in place on various side streets.
Crews will be working between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for approximately nine months.
