Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - One NHP trooper definitely had the force on her side over the weekend.
In the early-morning hours on Satruday, off-duty Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Britta Foesch, was in her personal vehicle exiting 15 South at Blue Diamond when she noticed a Toyota Prius with tire damage attempting to enter I-15 from Blue Diamond in the wrong the direction.
Trooper Foesch got the vehicle stopped and turned around in the correct direction of travel. Trooper Foesch contacted NHP dispatch via phone and on-duty Troopers arrived. Troopers conducted a DUI investigation and arrested 27 year old Matthew Clendaniel on suspicion of DUI, Fail to Drive on the Right Side of Road, Driving without a Valid Driver’s License, and Fail to Maintain Lane.
What made this situation unique was Trooper Foesch was returning home from a Halloween Costume Party, she was the designated sober driver and still dressed in her costume as a Star Wars Storm Trooper.
Her storm trooper helmet was not worn while driving. Trooper Foesch has been a State Trooper for 7 years, and a NHP dispatcher before that.
