LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Nevada Department of Transportation has reopened the Southern Nevada Visitor’s Center along U.S. Highway 95, roughly 17 miles south of Searchlight. The center was closed back on July 15 following the discovery of bees swarming the faucets, toilets, and other facilities.
“NDOT maintenance crews remedied the bee problem,” says NDOT spokesman Tony Illia. “The facility is once again safe for motorist use.”
It was the second time this year that the center had to be closed due to a bee infestation. The center was closed in Late May for 7 days.
No one was seriously hurt due to bee stings in either case.
