LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Nevada's Department of Motor Vehicle offices finally opened back up on Monday after being closed for more than two months in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

If you were hoping to go take care of some business on Saturday, you'll have to put on the brakes.

All Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles field offices will be closed and all online services will be down tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The outage will include all DMV websites, kiosks, emissions stations and online services used by auto dealers.  Motorists will not be able to complete emissions tests.

The State of Nevada Enterprise IT Services Division is replacing central computing equipment used by most state agencies.

“Our staff will be standing by to make sure DMV services are up and running after the outage.  It’s important that motorists use the DMV’s alternate services rather than visit an office when possible, particularly for vehicle registration renewals,” said DMV Director Julie Butler.

Beginning June 27, DMV Field Services offices in Las Vegas, Henderson and Reno will be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. only.
