Suspect sought in fatal east-side hit and run

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Metro Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed a man in a motorized wheelchair who was attempting to cross an intersection near Lake Mead and Lamb on Thursday afternoon.

According to witness statements given to police, a male pedestrian was operating a motorized wheelchair northbound on Abels Lane when an unknown vehicle traveling north on Abels Lane struckhim, then fled the scene. 

The pedestrian was transported to UMC Trauma where he was later pronounced dead. The pedestrian's death marks the 87th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2020. The man's identitiy has not yet been released. No specifics have been given about the type of car that struck the man.
