Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - NV Energy is asking customers throughout Nevada to conserve power on Thursday due to demands on the power grid created by heat in the West.
Customers are asked to take measures to reduce power use between the hours of 5p-8p. Things like upping thermostats to 78 degrees, not charging vehicles during these hours and avoiding using large appliances will help conserve energy.
Excessive heat warnings for Las Vegas and the Valley started earlier this week as temperatures topped 105 degrees.
