Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Two people were killed, and several others injured, in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred north of Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon.

Nevada State Police first got the call about the crash around 3:30pm. The crash happened on the northbound side of I-15 at Mile Marker 100, near the Carp-Elgin exit.

In addition to the two fatalities, one person was airlifted to Las Vegas in critical condition, while four others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

All lanes of 15 North were closed in the area until the early morning hours on Monday, leading to huge backups and lengthy detours for drivers heading toward Utah.

Nevada State Police have yet to release more details about the crash, nor have they released the identity of the victims who lost their lives.
