Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A west valley apartment building was damaged by fire Wednesday night.

Fire dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls at just after 8pm that an apartment building was on fire.

When firefighters arrived to the Accent on Rainbow Apartments, flames were running up the outside wall of a two story wood frame apartment building with 16 apartment units. A second alarm was requested which brought approximately 21 units with 65 firefighters to the fire.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in less than thirty minutes. Four apartments were damaged on the second floor, while four units on the first floor had water damage. Damage was estimated at $150,000. No one was hurt

Fire investigators determined the fire started outside the building on the ground next to the wall, then ran up the wall into the attic and started to spread. What started the fire isn’t yet known.

Utilities to the building had to be disconnected due to the fire so the entire building was evacuated, which could affect nearly 30 tenants. The American Red Cross arrived on scene with its disaster relief team to assist the tenants.
