Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas Metro Police are investigating two homicides from Monday morning, both happening near convenience stores.

The first occurred outside of a Speedee Mart on Sahara west of Paradise Road. A patrol unit rolling through the area heard the sound of gunshots and turned around to investigate the source. Shotspotter technology led police to a man suffering from gunshot wounds at the intersection of Sahara and Van Patten. That person was taken to Sunrise Hospital but died of his wounds.

The second shooting was reported by a clerk working at a Circle K on Valley View and Alta. That clerk reported hearing gunfire, then looked outside and saw the victim lying near the gas pumps.

In both cases, police say they have no witnesses and are hoping that video surveillance cameras from the scene can be used to help in the investigations.
