Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Two people are missing after it’s believed they were swept away in washes during a brief heavy storm that rolled through parts of the valley Wednesday night.
The first incident happened around 9pm near Flamingo and Koval, with Las Vegas Metro Police receiving a number of calls from people saying they saw a man and woman who were being washed away. The man was rescued but the woman remains missing.
30 minutes later, similar calls came in about a man in trouble in a wash near Sahara and Lamb. Attempts to rescue the man were unsuccessful and he remains unaccounted for.
In addition, there were reports of two others who went missing from that wash, but that hasn’t been confirmed by police.
