Las Vegas, NV (AP) — Three people were killed in a head-on crash involving two cars northwest of Las Vegas, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Nye County Sheriff’s officials said the deadly crash occurred between Beatty and Scotty’s Junction about 4 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 95.

The area of the crash is about two hours northwest of the Las Vegas Valley.

The names, ages and hometowns of the three persons killed haven’t been released yet.

Highway Patrol officials said crash scene photos taken by authorities show one vehicle had flipped over and rolled into the dirt to the right of the road and a pickup truck with severe front-end damage.

The wreck was part of yet another deadly weekend on Clark County roads

Metro Police arrested a man who they say took off after from an intersection where the SUV he was driving ran a red light and collided with another car, killing that car’s driver Friday night on Charleston just west of U.S. 95.

38-year-old Samson Baughman was arrested on suspicion of charges that included DUI resulting in death.

Earlier in the day on Friday, one person was killed in a crash at Carey and MLK. Police say in that one, a car crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car head-on. Police say the driver that caused the crash, only identified as a man in his 60s, died. Two people in the car that was struck are expected to be fine. Police say speed was a factor in that crash.

Early Sunday, an elderly woman was hit and killed by a car at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Silverado Ranch. The driver who struck the woman is suspected of impairment.
