The crash happened around 6pm. Nevada State Police says that a red Cadillac was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Jean when it slammed head-on into a Toyota pickup truck. The three people inside the truck were killed, as well as the driver of the Cadillac.

Though the investigation is ongoing, investigators say that impairment may have been a factor in the crash.

Four other vehicles were involved in the wreck, with two other people needing to be taken to the hospital with what were said to be non-life threatening injuries.

All lanes on 15 South in the area were closed for approximately 10 hours, finally re-opening around 4am. The names of those killed in the crash have not yet been released.
