Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The Animal Foundation has issued an emergency plea for fosters and volunteers after taking in an extraordinarily large number of surrenders in June.

The Animal Foundation says they’ve taken in 989 animals in the first two weeks of June alone, including close to 40 from a puppy mill that was busted in Henderson.

The situation has gotten so bad that the organization is having to use emergency pop-up kennels to temporarily house new arrivals.

In response to the influx, The Animal Foundation will be holding an emergency foster event on Friday between 11am and 7pm at their location on 651 N. Mojave. Interested parties to go in person or visit the foster window in the foundation’s adoption lobby during that time. You can find a foster application here.
