Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – It was a scary afternoon in the Spring Mountains on Monday after an avalanche hit near the Lee Canyon Ski and Snowboard Resort.

According to the resort, at approximately 1:20 pm, the avalanche hit in an area above the Sherwood chairlift, affecting the Black Jack, High Roller, and Keno trails. The Sherwood lift was immediately stopped, the resort suspended all operations and ski patrol was dispatched.

Guests were then asked to leave the resort. Ski patrol & mountain operations teams immediately performed a search, finding one guest requiring assistance. That guest was released after being treated on the scene.

Originally, there were reports of four people missing, but later on in the afternoon a notification was sent that all were safe and accounted for.

More snow is expected in the area throughout the day on Tuesday, and State Route 156 (Lee Canyon Road) is closed for snow removal operations. Resort officials says the area might be closed again on Wednesday.
