Investigators say they believe 45-year-old Rob Telles stabbed German outside the reporter’s home back in early September because he was upset over less than flattering articles German had written about the department that Telles ran, and of Telles’ behavior while running that department.

Telles’ attorney argued that his client should be eligible for bail, stating that he was not a flight risk, nor a threat to the community.

Prosecutors countered that Telles could not be trusted, citing that fact that Telles had cut himself while barricaded in his home prior to his arrest.

A preliminary hearing on Telles’ murder charge is scheduled for October 26th. The judge hearing today’s request said she would reconsider the bail request at that hearing.
