Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Investigators have determined that it was people target shooting that ignited a wildfire near Mount Potosi Thursday afternoon.

Dubbed the Sandy Valley Fire, the fire is estimated at just shy of 1,400 acres, was 60 percent contained.

Target shooting is one of the leading causes of accidental wildfires in Nevada.

Currently no structures are threatened and no injuries have been reported, though some campers and a Boy Scout troop had to be evacuated when the fire first broke out.
