Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The Clark County School District Board of Trustees voted Wednesday to re-open Lundy Elementary School on Mount Charleston.
The 5-1 vote reversed an earlier decision by the board last August to keep the school permanently closed.
The school suffered heavy damage from the rains of Tropical Storm Hilary back in the summer of 2023, and he been previously deemed not worth fixing due to the cost. This led to the students at Lundy having to be bused to Indian Springs for school, which is a 90-minute trip.
No estimates were given for how much it will cost to repair the school, nor was there a timetable for its reopening. The best case scenario has students returning by the fall of 2025.
