The 4-3 vote extended Jara’s contract through June 30th of 2026, and increased Jara’s pay annually by $75,000, to $395,000 a year.

The very same board of trustees had voted last year to fire Jara, only to reverse course when he threatened to file a lawsuit.

Jara has been leading the nation’s 5th largest school district since 2018.
