Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A program created to help those having problems paying their rent is almost out of money and will no longer Take new applications.

Clark County announced on Tuesday that The Clark County Eviction Prevention and Fixed Income Rent Assistance programs have completed its allocation of available dollars and is no longer accepting applications for rental assistance.

The CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) was a Clark County response to the COVID-19 crisis to support those who were directly impacted by the pandemic to provide housing and utility assistance to low-income families, seniors and employed individuals struggling to pay their housing costs.

The county says that applications that have already been filled out will be processed in the order they are received until funding is exhausted; priority will be given to the elderly and people with disabilities referred by the Eviction Diversion Program at the Las Vegas Justice Court.

Individuals in need of assistance can contact the Clark County Social Services Call Center at 702-455-4270 for information on other available programs and resources.
