Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - On Thursday, representatives from Clark County presented plans to the state's Covid-19 task force for how they would handle mitigation efforts for dealing with Covid-19.
Recently, Governor Steve Sisolak announced that individual counties would take over from the state on May 1st, but each county would need to submit a plan that meets the state's approval before moving forward. Clark County's turn to be heard was Thursday.
Under the county's plan, which received favorable reviews from task force members, beginning May 1st business capacity would rise to 80 percent, with social distancing requirements down to 3 feet from 6. Capacity limits and social distancing requirements would then be done away with once 60 percent of county residents have received at least their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
What wouldn't be going away is the state's mask mandate. Governor Sisolak said that the mandate would be staying in place for the forseeable future, even though Nye County has said that it wants to make the wearing of face coverings optional.
