Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - -Clark County has launched a recruitment drive for candidates interested in becoming firefighters and will be accepting applications online now through Oct. 14.
The department’s minimum qualifications for firefighters include being at least 18-years-old, having a high school diploma or GED, and possessing a Class C driver’s license. Submitting an application at Government Jobs - CCFD begins the process, after which candidates will need to complete a written exam and oral interview through the department’s third-party partner PSA: Public Safety Answers.
As the selection process progresses, candidates will be subject to a drug test, a criminal background check, a medical exam and a physical abilities test. Upon receiving a job offer, recruits must complete rookie school through the department’s Fire Academy.
More information about the two-step application process can be found at www.JoinCCFD.org under the Become a Firefighter tab. Those who apply now will be considered for the next Clark County Fire Department Fire Academy slated to begin in January 2026.
