Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - More than 100 employers with 12,000+ open jobs will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall on Friday, rom 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the first large-scale, in-person job fair since the start of the pandemic.
The Summer Job Fair will be hosted by Clark County Commissioners Jim Gibson, Tick Segerblom, and Marilyn Kirkpatrick and is free and open to the public.
Employers looking to hire at the Summer Job Fair include Tesla, Amazon, CVS, Caesars Entertainment, The Cosmopolitan, UMC, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Pinkbox Doughnuts and many more. Some employers will be holding on-site interviews.
Parking is free and job seekers should enter the job fair through the West Hall North Lobby.
One-Stop Career Center and Nevada JobConnect employment professionals will be on-hand to provide job seekers a quick resume check and let attendees know about no-cost employment and training help. Job seekers will be able to use laptops and printers at no charge. The Southern Nevada Health District will also be at the job fair to offer free COVID-19 vaccinations.
“We still have a lot of folks out of work and we want them to re-enter the job market before their unemployment benefits run out,” said Commission Chairman Kirkpatrick. “The time is now to find a new career as it is a job seeker market.”
The fair is expected to bring such a big crowd that additional parking facilities at the Convention Center will be opened, and applicants will be given access to the recently opened Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, the underground tunnel transit system.
Online registration for the event has closed, but walk-ins are welcome. Those Walk-ins should expect a brief registration process when entering the job fair.
“We are encouraged by the overwhelming response to this job fair by employers and job seekers,” said Commission Vice Chairman Gibson. “With the extra federal unemployment benefits expiring in early September, we want to encourage anyone who is receiving unemployment benefits to find a new job now before their budget is impacted.”
