Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - COVID-19 cases have risen in Clark County over the past week, jumping by about 65%, according to fresh numbers released by the state on Wednesday.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,419 cases in Clark County from April 19 to April 25, compared to 862 the previous week, though umbers posted by the Southern Nevada Health District show that the Clark County continues to count more cases than the state. SNHD counted 3,863 cases over a week's time.
The DHHS 14-day moving average has grown from 119 new cases per day to 145 cases -- only 22% higher.
Statewide, the 14-day moving average is up to 174.
Hospitalizations continue to decrease, dropping under 100 statewide, and at 80 in Clark County.
The state reported 68 new deaths over the past week, with 66 coming from Clark County. This doesn’t mean all the deaths happened over the past week. Deaths are sometimes reported weeks, even months, after they actually occur.
