Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – DirecTV subscribers in Southern Nevada have lost a major local channel until further notice in a dispute over rights fees and distribution.

KLAS, Channel 8, was removed from DirecTV’s lineup Sunday afternoon after an agreement on a new deal between DirecTV and Nexstar, the parent company of KLAS, couldn’t be reached.

It’s the third time in recent years that a dispute between the two parties has resulted in DirecTV removing all Nexstar-owned channels from its lineup.

The fight, of course, is over money. Both sides are claiming the other is demanding too much to carry the programming. They also say that discussions are continuing to resolve the dispute.

The move not only affects Channel 8, but also the Nexstar-owned NewsNation channel, which was also taken off.
