Las Vegas, NV (AP) — A Las Vegas woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving away after her vehicle struck and fatally injured a tow truck operator on the shoulder of the 215 Southern Beltway Tuesday night, the Nevada Highway Patrol said Thursday.
An anonymous tip to Crimestoppers led to the identification of Colette Despain as the driver of a white Ford van that struck Ryan Matthew Billotte. Billotte was struck as he worked a scene on the westbound side of 215 between Decatur and Jones.
Acting on the tip, police went to a home near Rainbow and Cactus and discovered a white van with heavy damage on the right front passenger side.
Despain now faces a host of charges and is being held without bail. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday,
