Driver sought in fatal construction zone crash

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – One person was killed in a crash in the south Valley Monday morning, and Las Vegas Metro Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene.

The crash happened in a construction zone on Silverado Ranch west of Valley View. Metro says a pickup turned in front of another car and both front ends collided. The force of the crash threw a gas can from the truck onto the windshield of the sedan, breaking the car’s windshield and injuring the man and woman in the car.

The couple was taken to a hospital, but the woman died from her injuries. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Metro is looking for the driver of the pickup, who fled on foot. He is described as a Hispanic male adult between 25 and 30 years old. He is between 5'5" and 5'8" tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.
