Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Organizers of the Electric Daisy Carnival say they still plan to hold the electronic music festival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway May 21-23, in spite of the fact that their safety plan they submitted to the state got shot down.

The company that puts on EDC said it is "moving forward" with the event in accordance with local and state guidelines.

However, their planned submitted in March was rejected by the Department of Business and Industry for failure to provide for adequate social dissecting between partygoers.

EDC says because the festival is outdoors, requirements for social distancing shouldn't be as harsh as for events held at indoor venues.

An estimated 200 thousand people are expected to attend this year's EDC.
