Police were called out to a home near Valley View and Pennwood around 9:45am and found the woman dead at the scene.
The dog was located at a nearby residence and was taken into the custody of Animal Control.
No other details about the attack have been released, including the identity of the victim or breed of the dog suspected in the mauling.
