Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The Clark County School District announced on Monday that they're recommending that Lundy Elementary School up on Mount Charleston stay permanently closed.

The school suffered heavy damage when Tropical Storm Hilary rolled through in August of 2023 and had been closed ever since.

Simply put, CCSD said it’s too expensive for all the damage to be fixed, so the building will stay shuttered.

The Clark County School District Board of Trustees will vote on the issue next month.

After the school was closed, the fewer than 20 students who attend Lundy were bused to Indian Springs, and that will continue. Mount Charleston kids in middle and high school grades also currently attend school in Indian Springs.
