Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - As Boulder City prepares for its annual 4th of July weekend Damboree, a tragedy in China is having an impact on the annual fireworks show. As a result, The Damboree Committee has been forced to scale back its fireworks show, and will slash the entry rate for vehicles coming to the party.

Recently, an explosion rocked the Shanzhou Fireworks Company in the Hunan Province of China, leaving nine people dead and 26 people injured. The city says that tariffs have also affected imports, availability and costs, as China produces ninety percent of fireworks used in the U.S. in professional shows.

The Damboree Committee learned last weekend that their order, largely from Shanzhou Fireworks, was cancelled.

The city will procure fireworks from another provider, but says that because their main shipment was canceled, the fireworks show would be much shorter than normal. Because of that, entry for parking at Veterans Memorial Park will be reduced to $10 per vehicle (previously $20).
