Nevada State Police say that an SUV heading northbound at a high rate of speed was headed north on 15 when it slammed into the rear of a pickup truck. The force of the collision caused the truck to roll over, ejecting one of the occupants. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person in the truck was airlifted to U.M.C. and is currently in critical condition. The driver of the SUV wasn’t hurt.

Traffic on 15 South was forced off at the Jean exit. The freeway reopened just before noon.

The identities of those involved in the crash haven’t yet been released.
