Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - An early morning fire on Sunday damaged or destroyed an estimated 15 boats inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

The Lake Mead Marina remains open to the public, but National Park Service officials issued a partial area closure of the harbor's R and I Docks, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Firefighters from Clark County, Henderson, Boulder City and Bureau of Land Management all responded to the call, which came in just before 1am. It took about two and a half hours for the fire to be completely extinguished. No one was seriously hurt.

The cause of the fire hasn't yet been determined.

For specific updates to marina operations, the Park Service recommends checking the Las Vegas Boat Harbor's Facebook page.
