After first cooperating with police, the man then fled, jumping onto the lanes of U.S. 95 in the process. The fleeing suspect was then struck by a vehicle and died at the scene.
The southbound lanes of U.S. 95 were closed for close to five hours as police investigated, finally opening back up around 10am. The name of the suspect has not yet been released. The driver who hit the suspect wasn't hurt.
