Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A portion of I-15 North, north of Las Vegas, was closed for much of the day Monday due to a large fuel spill from a crash.
The crash happened around 7:45 on 15 North between Moapa and Bunkerville at Mile Marker 106. According to Nevada State Police, a semi hit an abandoned SUV and rolled on its side, causing the fuel spill.
The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries.
For a time one lane of traffic was getting through, but after awhile, NSP decided to block all northbound lanes, which meant a lengthy detour for drivers heading up toward Utah.
The freeway was partially reopened around 4pm.
