Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police confirmed on Tuesday that a man wanted in the 2020 murder of his girlfriend has been arrested in Mexico.
Erick Rangel-Ibarra is currently in a Mexican jail, awaiting extradition back to Las Vegas.
Details on where Rangel-Ibarra was located weren’t immediately made public.
Police have been searching for Rangel Ibarra in the death of 22-year-old Lesly Palacio. Palacio disappeared on August 29th, 2020. Her remains were found two weeks later in a drum at the Valley of Fire State Park.
Rangel-Ibarra’s father, Jose Rangel, was sentenced to two years in prison for helping his son move Palacio’s body. Rangel was released after 9 months behind bars.
