
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The Henderson Fire Department will be offering fentanyl awareness and response training as part of the First Six Community Lifesaver Training curriculum.
Courses include training about the dangers of fentanyl and demonstrations on how to administer Narcan, an FDA-approved drug given to reverse the effects of an overdose.
Up to 30 overdose kits will also be available at each class, based on availability, in conjunction with the City's Risk It All with Fentanyl awareness campaign and the Southern NV Health District.
The First Six Community Lifesaver Training program includes:
• Hands-Only CPR
• Emergency Bleeding Control
• Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Fentanyl Awareness and Narcan Training
• PulsePoint Responder App: Receive alerts to help nearby citizens in need
Classes are open to adults and children aged 12 or older with an adult. The next class is scheduled for Saturday, February 3 and is hosted monthly.
