The Animal Care and Control facility (at 300 E. Galleria Drive) has approximately 200 animals in its care, and is currently at 90% capacity, with projections to approach 100% by the end of this week. There are fewer than 10 kennels available for dogs and cats.

For all of August, adoption fees for all animals are as follows:

• Dogs | $45
• Cats | $40

Adoption costs include routine vaccines, spay or neuter surgery if not already done, a rabies tag, microchip ID and a Henderson pet license for qualifying adopters.

If you can’t bring an animal home but wish to help, adoption sponsorships and donations are available. Visit the Henderson Animal Care and Control facility for more information.

The Henderson Animal Care and Control facility is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with adoptions closing at 4:30 p.m. Animals available for adoption are first-come, first-served and no appointment is necessary.
