Henderson opens area “cooling stations” in response to extreme heat

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – An Excessive Heat Warning for Southern Nevada doesn’t officially begin until Friday morning, but the City of Henderson has already opened two so-called “cooling stations” to those looking to escape the heat.

Clark County plans to open more than two-dozen cooling stations on Friday, and will keep them open at least through Monday.

Officially, the National Weather Service has our Excessive Heat Warning starting at 11am Friday and going through 5pm Monday, with high temps expected to reach 115 this weekend.
