Henderson Police arrest man in double stabbing

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A 30-year-old man faces two counts of attempted murder after Henderson Police say he stabbed to women on Tuesday.

Police responded to the stabbing call at a residence northeast of Boulder Highway and Sunset just after 5pm on Tuesday, and discovered two women suffering from knife wounds. One was taken to a hospital, the other treated at the scene.

Both are expected to survive.

Working on tips, police found the suspect, James Atkins, in a desert area,. He was also suffering from stab wounds. Atkins was taken into custody, but was also taken to the hospital for treatment. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

After he’s released from the hospital, police say that Atkins will be booked into the Henderson Detention Center.
