Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The first officer-involved shooting of 2026 involving Henderson Police happened Sunday morning.
Police were called to a neighborhood near Boulder Highway and Water Street on reports of a man driving a piece of construction equipment.
When police arrived, they ordered the man out of the front-loader.
Instead, the man drove straight for police, hitting a couple of squad cars in the process.
Police fired shots at the driver, who was wounded in the arm and the gun. The wounds weren’t considered to be life threatening. Two officers suffered injuries in the incident, but those also weren’t considered serious.
The name of the person who was shot has not yet been released, nor have the names of the officers who were injured.
