Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The City of Henderson has announced plans for a new state-of-the-art indoor sports complex. The proposal was originally presented Monday night, and will recommended for final approval at the July 2nd Henderson City Council meeting

The indoor sports complex will be built behind Chicken N Pickle, currently under construction on the southeast corner of St.
Rose and Maryland Parkways. The planned 180,000 square-foot, two-level facility is anticipated to have the following features:

• Basketball courts that can convert to other court uses such as volleyball and pickleball
• Hybrid turf fields for sports like indoor soccer, box lacrosse and indoor football
• Birthday party and community rooms
• Family entertainment to potentially feature bowling, laser tag, arcade games, miniature golf and a restaurant and bar

Through a public-private partnership with KemperSports, the City can provide residents with additional recreational amenities throughout Henderson without any additional taxpayer expense, according to a press release sent out by the city. Henderson residents will be eligible for 20% discounts on all amenities.

Funding for the $70-million project would be provided through the private third-party partner and one-time funding sources, including public infrastructure bond sale, West Henderson Development Fund, and City Municipal Facilities Fund.
