Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A 17-year-old Las Vegas boy faces murder charges after police say he intentionally struck and killed a bicyclist with his car.
The incident happened the night of August 14th near Centennial Parkway and Tenaya. Police responded to a call of a 64-year-old man who had been struck while riding his bike. The vehicle had fled the scene.
The bicyclist was taken to U.M.C., but died from their injuries.
Police later found the car, which was determined to have been stolen, and were able to arrest the driver. The driver was also linked to several other car thefts.
This week, Metro says they were alerted to social media video which indicated to them the bicyclist was struck intentionally. Charges of open murder were added for the 17-year-old, who hasn’t yet been identified because of his age.
