Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Another change is coming for drivers who use (or want to use) HOV lanes on the valley freeways.
Starting Monday, the hours in which the HOV lane rules will be enforced switches from 24/7 to between 5am and 10pm.
Between 10pm and 5am, any and all can use the HOV lanes, no matter how many are in the vehicle.
The change comes after a lengthy study from N-DOT that confirmed what drivers already knew: that enforcing the HOV lane rules 24 hours a day didn’t make much sense, given the much lighter volume of traffic that Las Vegas sees in the overnight hours.
N-DOT says they’ll continue to study traffic patterns and might make more changes to the HOV enforcement hours in the future.
