But Christmas? Yes, apparently we’re one of the best places to be for that, too.

The financial website WalletHub is out with their list of the Best Cities to Celebrate Christmas, and only two other cities are ranked higher than Vegas.

WalletHub compared the 100 biggest U.S. cities based on 32 key indicators of a safe and affordable Christmas, from the availability of Christmas traditions to the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to the city’s overall generosity.

Overall, Las Vegas came in at #3, helped by top overall rankings in the “Number of Affordable, High-Quality Restaurants”, “Toy Stores & Hobby Shops per Capita” and “Food Banks per Capita” categories. Surprisingly, for a desert community, Las Vegas finished 10th in “Christmas Tree Farms per Capita"

Knocking us down a peg were lower scores in the “Restaurant Meal Costs” (45th) and “Average Beverage Price” (46th) categories.

The only cities deemed better in which to spend Christmas: Seattle and Atlanta. Pittsburgh and Orlando round out the top five.

Sadly, the biggest scrooges seem to be in North Las Vegas, which WalletHub rated as the worst place out of the 100 cities studied in which to spend Christmas. Henderson didn’t finish much better, placing 98th out of 100. Reno finished 39th.
