Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A teacher at Green Valley High School was arrested on Monday on charges that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student.
35 year-old Anthony Coffield is facing two counts of sexual assault, as well as one of a school employee engaged in a sex act with a student older than 16.
Henderson Police arrested Coffield on November 26th, but the investigation of the Green Valley High School theater teacher had been going on for about a month.
Coffield has denied any inappropriate contact, but according to a police report, Coffield’s DNA was found on the student’s underwear.
Henderson Police say that they believe there are no other victims other than the one that came forward.
During a brief court appearance on Tuesday, a judge continued to deny bail for Coffield, who’s been with CCSD since 2011. He’s been at Green Valley High School since 2022. His next scheduled bail hearing is Monday, December 8th.
