Man arrested after bystander killed in shooting

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police say an innocent bystander was accidentally killed by a stray bullet fired during a downtown dispute over the weekend.

Police say it happened Saturday night near Las Vegas Boulevard and Oakey. LVMPD Homicide Section said that the victim was walking on the sidewalk when an altercation occurred at a nearby business.

As the victim walked by the business, an individual began shooting at another man and a stray bullet struck the victim.

Marvin Williams, 27, was arrested in connection with this crime. He was charged with open murder and discharge a firearm into an occupied structure. He was booked in absentia into the Clark County Detention Center.

The name of the person who was killed hasn’t yet been released.
