Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested a man they say struck and killed a pedestrian, then fled the scene.
The incident happened just after 3am Thursday on Las Vegas Boulevard north of Cactus.
Metro says a man in his 40s was trying to cross Las Vegas Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit. He died at the scene.
Several hours later, police arrested 59-year-old Pedro Jimenez Jr. He’s been booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Metro hasn’t yet released any information on where Jimenez Jr. was arrested, nor how they determined that Jimenez Jr. was the person that they were looking for.
The identity of the man who was killed has also not yet been released.
